Share your many varying thoughts I think RPGs nowadays are too flashy, sacrificing storylines and massive spell lists for cinematic sequences

I agree completely about sacrificing story for "flash."
They're also shorter than they used to be, which sucks. Putting two or three .Hack games on one disc might get you a normal-length RPG.
There's also fewer of them as developers get bigger and want bigger profits by making more short-as-hell action and sports games instead of RPG's that take a lot more work to make.
